My garden is a living example of how beauty, habitat, and sustainability can thrive together. Designed with approximately 65% California native plants, it is an Ocean Friendly Garden that captures rainwater, supports healthy soil, and reduces runoff to our beaches. Throughout the seasons, hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, and other pollinators fill the garden, creating a vibrant and ever-changing landscape. I also believe gardens should be welcoming to everyone, so the space is designed to be inclusive, comfortable, and accessible for visitors of all ages and abilities. Every corner is meant to inspire people to discover practical ideas they can bring home, whether they have a large yard, a small patio, or just a few containers. Marie Hoffman is co-founder of the Hoffman Murphy Real Estate Team, where she has served the South Bay for 36 years. A community builder and environmental advocate, she has hosted hundreds of educational events, garden tours, nonprofit fundraisers, and community gatherings that connect people with nature, local history, and one another. Marie supports and collaborates with the California Native Plant Society, California Rare Fruit Growers, South Bay Parkland Conservancy, Surfrider Foundation South Bay Chapter, Santa Monica Mountains Fund, local garden clubs, and many other environmental and civic nonprofits. She believes every event is an opportunity to educate, inspire, build relationships, and strengthen the communities we call home.
